On The Run 04:38
So you're crazy, just a bit contused Can't be worse, had enough abuse Gonna love it, it's a lot of fun Ever tried Irvin' on the run? Can't decide what I don't know Time for something new I might be right, but I don't know Set my sights on you On the run, livin' on the run On the run, livin' on the run So they say, steady wins the race Need it fast, getting’ out of this place Rockin' out to where I wanna be Change your mind, well you know where I'll be

Christine 03:18
On the street, she waits for him, the time is getting right Pulls out his key and then unlocks her door With great anticipation, he drives into the night Takes her where she's never been before Cruising down State 90 at a hundred miles an hour With a fury that could blow them off the road She is on the loose tonight and he is on the prowl Metal screaming from the radio Fires up a cannon, he is on the bleed Slams it into gear with no delay He forgets his troubles when he gets behind the wheel You'd be smart to stay out of his way Hits the turn, rubber burns, smoke fills the air They'll be lucky just to stay alive Looking straight ahead, his palms are bathed in sweat He slowly slides her into overdrive Face reflects blue evil coming from the dashboard's glow It you get a change, you'd better wish him well On the road to paradise or on the road to hell At times it seems he really doesn't know Suddenly, he's kinda tense, his foot slams on the brake Another hundred revs show on the tach Wouldn't worry ‘bout it, it'll be his last mistake She's got him and he's never coming back
3.
Pretty Baby 03:51
Sexy lady, she's a beauty queen Saw her picture in the pages of a magazine In the doorway, pretty baby Have it your way, pretty baby She's got the razor's edge, she's really keen She’s got the looks and the moves that you have never seen Throw the switch, catch the lire It's burning deep inside her eyes In the doorway, pretty baby Have it your way Be my lady tonight She's so hot, she'll take you to the wire With bad intent, she's dealing in desire Throw the switch, catch the fire It’s burning deep inside her eyes In the doorway, pretty baby Have it your way, pretty baby In the doorway, pretty baby Have it your way Be my lady tonight

Covered the bases, heading for home Trying to stay out of her sight Saw a headlight gleaming off the edge of the chrome From the corner of my eye And I know she's watching me Looking for traces in the night But what does she want from me? Better run and hide, run and hide I might he turning the tables on you So tonight you'd better beware Keep looking over your shoulder all night ‘Cause this time, gonna be there And I know she's watching me Looking for traces in the night But what does she want from me? Better run and hide, run and hide Run and hide There won't be time to scream or to fight When the cold steel touches the heart Just a body left for the vultures above Lyin' face down in the dark And I know she's watching me Looking for traces in the night But what does she want from me? Better run and hide, run and hide Better run and hide
5.
Illusions 04:07
Impossible worlds, impossible dreams Things don't appear as they seem, even in the night Images seen are not totally clear Hiding within from your fears in the candlelight Young man, young man, well You better make up your mind Is it left or is it right? Old man, old man, if it's logical in your eyes Is it all within your sight? In your hourglass you wait To be covered by the sand Why does help arrive loo late to save a dying man? Young man, young man, in a world that's preconceived Full of choices, black and white Old man, old man, is it easy to be deceived Is it wrong or is it right? Illusions you can see, but never certain Magic and misery, forever searching I'm on the outside looking in Can't tell the ceiling from the floor From the shadows I can see And I'm hopin' to find the door From the shadows I can see And I'm hopin' to find the door In the candlelight

Breakin' Out 03:53
It's been a long, hard switch I wanna shut her down Are you ready to go out on the town? Workin' a nine to five ain't the biggest sin The heat is risin' as the night begins 'Cause we're breakin' out and we're hungry for a fight Gonna try to live a week in a single night ‘Cause we're breakin' out Looking to do it right is my only vice I need some red-hot action, you know the type That's when I start to shake, I think of what's in store I need to do - I need to see - just a little more ‘Cause we're breakin' out and we're hungry for a fight Gonna try to live a week in a single night ‘Cause we're breakin' out ‘Cause we're breakin' out - yeah Three a.m. by the clock on the wall I like the early hours best of all It's been a long hard night, don't wanna be alone Come on baby, gonna take you home 'Cause we're breakin' out and we're hungry for a fight Gonna try to live a week in a single night ‘Cause we're breakin' out - yeah 'Cause we're breakin' out and we're hungry for a fight Gonna try to live a week in a single night Yeah we're breakin' out
7.
Overload 03:42
Tell the world we're back, the deal is goin' down tonight Gettin' ready to rock on the other side of town tonight Spread the word, shout it loud, the band is coming back again Moving fast, ain't the first, won't be the last time The more the walls close in, the more that we explode The pressure's rising to overload, we're gonna over You’ll find out, there's no doubt we're gonna rock all night Can you feel it in the air? It’s the place to be all night We're on fire, we're alive and we're burnin’ the place Do you see it on the stage? Are you keepin' the pace? The more the walls close in, the more that we explode The pressure's rising to overload, we're gonna overload We’re gonna overload Well, all right, we'll slay all night if we have to ‘Til we rock, ‘till we rock the roof right off the walls We're gonna do it, we deliver what you want You should know, you should know we got the balls
8.
I've heard you can't go home again - I've heard many things But it's seldom I believe what people tell me I never stop to think that they might have something to say I seldom buy what others try to sell me Gotta give a little, if you're gonna take a lot Can you learn to pay the price? The risk of giving souls away to ones you'll never own Is the same as taking candy from a stranger ‘Cause even those you love can leave you hanging on a line The secret is to recognize the danger Gotta give an inch for somebody else to take a mile Maybe it's time to throw the dice Gotta give a little if you're gonna take a lot Can you learn to pay the price? Pay the price Can't slop until I take it, 'till take it all the way Cause before you can believe, you gotta see There's people making promises they're never gonna keep You can't expect it all for free
9.
Fight 03:32
Not much of a night pretender I play best in the heat of the day Can't handle this mess I'm in I'll take your best punches, I like it that way Sometimes things go out of sync Like a puzzle where the pieces don't fit Tired of bangin' my head against the wall Gotta fight to make it on my own Got the right to go my way alone Is it really snowing now? I'm in this mood and it's always the same There's a blizzard raging in me Guess I've only got myself to blame Sometimes life gets out of hand It’s a common thing - you understand Gonna hold it together after all Gotta fight to make it on my own Got the right to go my way alone Not much of a night pretender I play best in the heat of the day Can't handle this mess I'm in I’ll take all your punches, I love it that way Sometimes things go out of sync Like a puzzle where the pieces don't fit Gonna hold it together after all
10.
How Long 03:59
You think that I'm holding you back But you're not telling me why Every time I try to get us on track, you wanna get high Won't you listen to me? I got a lot to say You don't have to lie But you act like you don't hear me talking And my words don't apply How long will it take to make it? How long do I have to wait? Is something wrong, or am I just crazy? Could it be that I learned too late? I might be fast, but I can't keep up with your demands You want me to get down on my knees But I got other plans I want it one-on-one, just for fun But you won't play it that way Calling me in the middle of the night with nothing to say How long will it take to make it? How long do I have to wait? Is something wrong, or am I just crazy? Could it be too late? You’re never very far away Don’t get close to me ‘Cause I won't control myself again You're living dangerously How long? How long? How long?

about

One year after "Don't look down" the follow up "Tricks of a trade" was released via Woolfe Records. In 1985 the international Heavy Metal scene went into more heavyness, so the early 80s sound of "Tricks of a trade" maybe was a bit too late to catch the interest from a big audience. The high pitched vocals by Bob Moody, who replaced the equally strong Terry Kushner, were typically US-style, but musically TOUCHDOWN clearly was influenced by the European scene.

If you listen to songs like "On the Run" or "Breakin Out" a touch of German or Scandinavian Metal is evident. Probably the best song on the album is "Pay the price" with a really great hook, but all in all the album is a fine example for well played Canadian melodic Metal with really outstanding vocals! Sadly "Tricks of a trade" was the last strike of the band. Luckily now you can listen to all the material the band made including rare bonus songs!
